English Corner:
Waiting for Christmas with a slice of Banoffe Pie
Finally winter has come! I love winter, I love the cold outside and the snow. And even more I'm crazy for Christmas. I feel like a child, I like the lights, the Christmas tree. I love to buy presents for the people I love. I like to find the presents under the Christmas tree, eat with all my family, meet again all of my friends! It's like a magic moment!
Although I have to work! It's a big moment in my company: new plans and new schedule. All has to be ready before holidays. But the atmosphere is becoming more relaxing and happy and we're waiting to attend the annual Christmas Party: dinner, music and prices! A big event!
Yesterday I was writing the Christmas cards for my friends and I made a Banoffe Pie, my favourite and the easiest British Recipe.
Banoffe Pie
250 gr of digestive cookies
150 gr of butter
1 can of condensed milk or 250 gr of dulce de leche
4 bananas
whipped cream
Crumble all the cookies and add melted butter. Mix carefully and spread on a mould. Put in the fridge for 3 hours or for a day.
Now you to prepare the caramel.
If you use condensed milk you have to be very careful: put the can in a pot full of water and boil for 3 hours. Remember to check the level of the water and add more.
If you have Dulce de Leche, you can spread on the cake directly.
Before serving add slices of banana and whipped cream.
A big hug!

Ciao.

Saffron darling, you took such an artistic shoot for your tree! I feel like I'm drinking champagn and dancing by the tree now!
In the State we have banana cream pie which is very similar of yours, except we use custard instead of condensed milk. But will like to try your recipe as your pie really looks good!
